Mopani Copper Mines Plc is a multifaceted mining company with activities in the Copperbelt Province's, in Kitwe and Mufulira. The firm's activities cover the entire copper production chain, from subterranean ore extraction to concentration, smelting, refining, and packing the finished copper for export.

Owned by ZCCM Investment Holdings Plc (ZCCM-IH), a diversified mining investments and operations company with secondary listings on the London Stock Exchange in the United Kingdom and the Euronext Access Exchange in Paris, France, Mopani Copper Mines Plc is a Zambian-registered company. After purchasing the majority share in the mine from Carlisa Investments, a partnership between Canadian company First Quantum Minerals and Swiss commodity trader Glencore, who had operated Mopani since its privatization in 2000, in 2021, ZCCM-IH took ownership of Mopani Copper Mines Plc.

Mopani has underground mines, concentrators, a smelter, and a refinery between Kitwe and Mufulira. Mopani has a long history in mining and processing that dates back to the 1930s. Mopani Copper Mines Plc keeps investing in new technology to modernize its infrastructure in order to boost output and boost efficiency. Three deep shafts—Synclinorium, Mindola, and Henderson—that were dug and outfitted as part of the new infrastructure between 2014 and 2021—help Mopani continue to contribute to Zambia's economic growth while also extending the mine's life by more than 25 years.
